Everything Put Together
|
| | | Features: DVD "Everything Put Together" is the story of the American Dream unraveling, a chilling tale that examines the choices people make when faced with tragedy. Angie and Russ are a young married couple at the pinnacle of their dreams and expectations. Their perfect world becomes a nightmare when a day after their baby is born, he dies inexplicably. Rather than rallying to support Angie and Russ, their friends block them out of their lives to avoid the discomfort of dealing with the couple's loss. Like Roman Polanski's masterpieces Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby, Marc Forster's Everything Put Together is contemporary horror story following a young woman on her journey through maddening circumstances that turn from bad to downright sinister. It is a searing parable about human frailty, one that resonates powerfully because of disturbing implications about us all.
Editor's Note
A horrific tale that examines the risks and fears of motherhood, EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER is a no-holds-barred freak out. With smirking stealth, the film first illustrates a pleasant suburban picture of idyllic family life for Angie (Radha Mitchell) and her husband, Russ (Justin Louis), a beautiful young couple expecting their first child. Being pregnant is fun for Angie because her best friend (Megan Mullally) is pregnant too. In fact, there are lots of young couples just like Angie and Russ in the quaint town where they live. Now that the cannon is fully loaded, EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER fires its explosive blow. Things go terribly wrong: Angie loses her baby and falls into a severe depression. The cheery friends who used to adore Angie and Russ are long gone. In fact, Angie and Russ are shunned by their friends, who treat their misfortune as a potentially contagious disease. As Angie slides further into the darkness of postpartum misery, the chills cut through the suburban silence like screams in the night. A horror film in every respect, from the stylistic jerky handheld camera to the stark close-ups of Angie possessed by maternal rage, EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER never relents.
