Nagase is a thoroughly engaging hero" (Variety).
Editor's Note
A Japanese thriller that manages to stay within genre conventions, but still forms an interesting and absorbing narrative, MIKE YOKOHAMA: A FOREST WITH NO NAME is a superlative detective movie. Private eye Mike Yokohama (Masatoshi Nagase) is the central character, who undertakes an exhaustive search for the daughter of a rich businessman. But as Yokohama's snooping leads him out to the woods, where he believes the errant girl may have joined a strange commune, his investigation takes a bizarre turn as he uncovers some abstruse activities taking place in the dank woodland.
