Yankee Doodle Dandy (2-Disc Special Edition)

A musical marvel that'll make you wave the grand old flag.

Features: DVD

James Cagney dusted off his dancing shoes and danced off with an Academy Ward for his portrayal of song-and-dance man George M. Cohan in the spectacular musical Yankee Doodle Dandy. Follow Cohan's career from his boyhood days hoofing in the family vaudeville act through his years as author, producer and star of Broadway hits. Along the way, enjoy "It's A Grand Old Flag", "Over There", "Give My Regards To Broadway", the title tune and many more songs, all presented in exhilarating, heart-thumping style. Zestfully directed by Michael Curtiz, Yankee Doodle Dandy was nominated for eight Oscars and won three (Best Scoring Of A Musical Picture and Best Sound Recording were the other two). But it is Cagney, hand-picked by Cohan himself, who makes the film a "Cagney Doodle Dandy". Named to the American Film Institute's Top 100 American Films, it's 126 minutes of irresistible showmanship and fun!

"...brought to life by...Cagney in a rare and wonderful song-and-dance performance."  VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever
